Last night the boys happened upon the film Gandhi on Turner Classic Movies. They drew their dad and me into the room to watch it with them and I am grateful they did as I had never seen the film before and what a film it is …. beautiful, poignant, and inspiring!
After having watched it, I know why it won Best Picture (along with seven other Oscars in 1982). After the movie, Josh went online and read about other movies that had won/or been nominated for an Oscar each year since its inception. Reading the list off to his dad and me, we were all surprised at how many we had actually seen and how many of those were older releases.
