A Summer Study - Dante’s Divine Comedy
Jun 4th, 2007 by lvbirders

My oldest daughter is an English major and the last week of school she asked Josh if he would like to join her in a study of Dante’s Divine Comedy. They are studying all three books and will use the entire summer to work on it. She has put together a study binder for both of them and is gathering materials she wants to incorporate into the study along with their actual reading of the text. The insight she brings to literature never ceases to amaze me and I have told Josh just how very lucky he is to have such a sister so excited and willing to share that knowledge wtih him. Josh started the book the other day and is enjoying it so far. He said that the footnotes at the bottom of each page of the copy his sister chose is helping tremendously. They will get together once a week to discuss the reading that she has assigned. I can’t wait to sit in on these discussions as I have never read Dante before. They have both asked me to read along with them. Should be fun :)
