My Teacher title has been revoked!

Oh wait… I had to give up that title a LONG time ago. After all, it seems at times the kids are MY teachers. This was proven yet once again this morning.
My oldest son (who is 21) and I took this quiz on the Middle East that is on MSN. We scored woefully low (3 out of 10) and realized sadly how our education in this area has been neglected. That will be remedied we have assured ourselves. And then came my 12 year old. Master of quizzes. I thought this one would get him too.
Well… he too will join his brother and I as we read and discuss more on the Middle East in the near future but it seems that he may be the leader. He scored 5 out of 10. Better than his elders in the family. Maybe it has been all the reading he has been doing on MSN about the conflict going on there. Maybe it’s all the reading on ancient civilizations he has done on his own. Maybe it’s all those computer games of Age of Empires he’s been playing this summer. I know at least one question he got right was because of the hockey movie Miracle of all things :) Hey, knowledge is ALL around us right.
Whatever the case, just goes to show age and wisdom are not necessarily synonymous and sometimes titles don’t mean a thing.

That’s one of the glorious things about home education. We are learning all the time, with the kids. :-)
Ouch, I got three out of ten as well. So much for thinking I knew more eh?
