I am a Great Books Reading Partner
May 23rd, 2006 by lvbirders

There is a wonderful group of women that I have joined to share our reading and thoughts about great books. You can find out more here:
I am enjoying the book we are currently reading, How to Read a Book by Mortimer J. Adler, and really being enriched myself through all the insights that these women have been sharing.
I have created a separate page for the notes I am taking and the thoughts I have on what I am reading. You can find it on my sidebar under Pages - Great Books Reading Partners

What a great idea! I am already in two book clubs, where I must read selected titles. I am taking the summer off of these to read some books that I CHOOSE to read…for pleasure and enrichment. IF I choose to leave those clubs(as I am considering after the next round of book selection), I will sign up. I have been toying about getting the HTRAB for both myself and my soon-to-be high schooler. I look forward to your comments!
Angela, We would love to have you along. I too know the longing to read books just for you. I am learning a tremendous amount about teh actual skill of reading and hoping to be a better reader myself as I put into practice Adler’s suggestions.
I have also been trying to do as Karen Andreola suggest in her Charlotte Mason Companion book about having different types of books going; a hard one, a somewhat difficult and and easy one. You pick up whichever you are in the mood for at that time :)
