A little of this, a little of that

It is quiet here at my house this morning so I found myself wandering around the blogoshphere. Found some interesting things:
LOTS of nature going on as Theresa over at Lapaz Farm has recommended what looks like a great Nature book and Dawn of By Sun and Candlelight is looking into Wood Ducks. GREAT blogs both by the way. Make sure you take the time to wander around.
Ed over on Trapper Creek is mulling over concrete and trees. Make sure to see his flower pictures. They are beautiful!
I came across this new blog, Ana Braga-Henebry’s Journal. Beautiful photos of art work by her students. I had fun with this quiz (on finding a sentence in a book) that she posted about:
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open it to page 161.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence along with these intructions.
5. Don’t search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what’s actually next to you.
(Also post the name of the book)
Here’s mine:
Actually, they feel less effective than when they used to believe in scholarship an-und-fursich. - from Begin Here: The Forgotten Conditions of Teaching and Learning by Jacques Barzun.
I will be posting more on this book later. It was funny it was the one sitting right next to the computer as I was using it to look something up. Good book. Interesting insights.
Well I best get my day going. Hope yours is an enriching one.

Hee, hee, wait til you and Josh see what I posted on my garden blog…
So much food for thought here…thanks for sharing. I finally found my way over, and have actually taken notes of books to add to our summer reading list. With Ty working with Dad, I think we will be spreading the year another week to Memorial Day, finishing up research papers and a science chapter. I cannot wait to get to the library!
Wow, you are a lot better than me at blog technology. :-) Love yours too! My oldest is coming from college for the summer and he will teach me a few things…
